Uneasy

Today i feel.... emotionally awkward. I just talked to my friend Matt Behrend from when i lived in Provo. He is such a neat guy and so funny. He got married in December and absolutely hates his life. It makes me sad for him. I mostly blame this on society. And the pressure that it puts on people (especially in this state) to get married young. I am 20 years old for goodness sakes and i get asked on a regular basis when i am going to get married. So, i say to those people.... LEAVE ME ALONE!!!! YOU ARE THE REASON THAT THE DIVORCE RATE HAS GROWN TO 65% IN THE LAST YEAR! AHHH! ok enough venting about that. On a heavier note... pray for Greg. He says he is ok. But he is sick. I love this boy. Remember to pray for him.

How could you not love him?

Now... for a lighter note and a cuter one at that. Last night i went and visited Erika. Her baby is soo darling. His name is Hayden and he is 7 weeks old today. It was fun to see her and catch up on old fun times. I love that girl and so happy for the little family that she has and the beautiful baby boy her and Darren brought into this world! Congrats Er!

Mother Nature

Kyle emailed me a few pictures from our recent outdoor adventures. I like them because they kind of document all the things I have been learning about my awesome surroundings. Back in the early spring we went out to the opening of Morgan canyon by the old bridge and the river. There was a big puddle that was probably only a few inches deep, but about twelve feet wide. It was about seven o' clock in the evening and the sky was bright orange and pink and the sun looked like a perfectly round piece of coal that had been in fire for an extremely long time, and glowed like a bright orange burning marble. That view was mirrored into the giant puddle and it probably was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. It was still pretty cold then so the greens weren't quite as bright as they are now, but definitely amazing. I was surprised how high the river was. There was a big waterfall just down from the bridge and I couldn't imagine the force of all that water pouring over. That day was just the beginning to all of the adventures of Megan and Kyle.

A few weeks ago we made our way out to Antelope Island. We drove around for a really long time looking for somewhere we could hike without putting too much pressure on Kyle's knee. (He tore his ACL at the beginning of the boarding season this winter and had surgery about two months ago.) So eventually we came to some big cliffs not too far off the road so we went exploring and I found 'My Rock'. It was so neat to be sitting so high up on the other side of the lake, especially to look back over and see it from the other direction. That day was one of the best days of the summer this far.

A few weeks ago Ashlee and I went out the Lemans races out at the Larry H. Miller Motorsports park in Tooele. I won tickets to it on the radio and there was so many people there. It was blistering hot, it said it was 114 degrees on the asphalt on the track. Some guy asked me and Ash if we wanted to do flags for the Porsche races, so we got to go in the garages and ride in the cars and do the flags out on the track. It was really cool. It was awesome to see the insides of the cars.

Yes, yes, I know I was white.

On Saturday Kyle and I rode the train down to Salt Lake and then Trax into downtown. We walked around a bit, and adventured. It is one of my favorite things to do. In between all the big buildings there are so many random little alleys and shops. Its like a little tiny maze in there. The Saturday before, Chelsey, Ximen, Kyle and I did the same thing and we came across this weird little square just North of the Library right behind Benihanas. There is a huge old brick building at the front and across the top of it say THE ASS FACTORY. So we walked on the little path into the center of all the buildings and there were tons of dead birds and ghetto alleys and apartments. There was some puke on the stairs. (Sorry to be graphic, but it's all for the effect.) Right in the middle is where the Dead Goat Saloon used to be. It was quite the scary place. That day was also the Gay Pride Festival. So we wandered around there for a little. It was bizarre how many random things go on in 'good little' Salt Lake City. This last Saturday Kyle and I wandered around in the City Weekly music festival at the Galivan Center. It was small but they had cool music there. Then we walked over to the Library. I had always seen in from the outside, but we walked around in the park and took this cute little picture by the waterfall, and then Kyle shot one of me on the stairs going up to the roof gardens at the Library. It was really high up there. Then we walked into the Library from the top and went down the elevator. It was insane. Its a glass elevator and every level you go down there is something else going on, or some other random person doing something else. It is a really cool place!

Hello World!

Well I guess this kicks off the saga of Megan's Blogging. A step up from Myspace? Yeah I guess a little, but the immature stalking aspect of it all will surely be missed. Ha!

This weekend was full of fun! The family had a big get together for Father's day. But, I was not able to attend. =[ sad face. But, Saturday was one of my longest and best friends from school, Lindsay's bridal shower. Lindsay and I cheered together and for a few years were joined at the hip! I am so excited for her. Her wedding will be on August 1st, so CONGRATS LINDS! It was really fun to be able to get to see all the girls from high school.

Sunday I went out to the lake with Kyle's family. It was really busy out there which was surprising because it was father's day! We got alot of sun and even got brave enough to jump in. BIG MISTAKE! As soon as we hit the water, your breath was sucked right out of you and the only thing you could think to do was swim out!

Following the lake adventure, my family had a Fathers day dinner at Tom and Becky's. It was fun to be able to eat and visit all evening!
